Fundraising Concert with Amira Medunjanin

Our Kids Foundation is delighted to invite you to its second fund raising concert with Amira Medunjanin, “Eastern Europe’s most potent contemporary voice”.

This year the concert is to take place at the stunning St Peter’s Church in Notting Hill on Saturday, the 9th of May – Victory Day and Europe Day!

Join us to celebrate on this joyous day, traditional music from Bosnia and Herzegovina and support Our Kids charitable mission of improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young adults in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minimum donation to attend the concert is £20/person and it can be made via JustGiving (https://www.justgiving.com/ourkidswithamira). Please clearly state the names of the persons on whose behalf the donation is being made. For this donation, you will enjoy canapés and a complimentary drink. For further modest donations, you will also be able to enjoy additional drinks before and after the concert.

Amira’s latest album “Silk & Stone” has received excellent reviews in British media. The Guardian has awarded 4* to Amira’s “intimate, pained and gently compelling voice” and Nigel Williamson has described the album as “career-defining third album from Bosnia’s finest export” in the “Uncut Magazine”.

Funds raised by the concert will be used to finance Our Kids' long term and ongoing projects to support young adults over 18, many with special needs, who have to leave institutional care in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but don’t have any support from the society. This year Our Kids will start running the “Halfway House” Project in Mostar; this is a residential/business/commercial development already completed by the Italian-based NGO Luciano Lama, which will now be run as a facility for vocational training and other activities designed to increase the young adults’ ability to enter employment, as well as improving the professional skills of personnel working in children’s homes across BiH.
